Misterton Chippy & Bistro

Visited today for the first time. The staff are really friendly & welcoming. 3 of shared the cod buster, everything was really tasty, beautiful light crispy batter. Obviously our meal was huge but judging by the other meals we saw coming out all of the portions are very generous. We’ll definitely return

Called into the Misterton Chippy & Bistro today (Wednesday) with my wife after seeing the YouTube video of Beard Meets Food tackling the Codbuster Challenge. Wednesday seems a good day to visit as it is quiet. Ordered large cod and chips with mushy peas. All we can say is excellent in every way. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the food arrived at our table, freshly cooked and in quick time. First impressions were that the fish was large and thick with beautiful crispy batter, cooked to perfection. There were masses of proper chips and the pot of mushy peas was bigger than any other place we have previously eaten. We could not fault the fish and chips in any way and struggled. and failed, to eat all the chips. Having finished our meal the owner, Shaun, came to talk to us and we spent a good hour chatting to this 'local personality. You will need to go yourself to discover the magic of Misterton Chippy and Shaun... who has quite a life story and a little known fame and personality to share. We will definitely visit again. The prices are great, the portions are huge, the quality is second to none and the service is exceptional. The best chippy we have ever visited...and we have visited a few. Misterton Chippy and Bistro is by far the best fish and chips we have ever had. Highly recommended. We were told by Shaun that Friday is the busiest day but Wednesday, mid-day, was quiet.

Had to leave a review for this little gem of a place, we travel from lincoln to have fish and chips here, they have a takeaway and a lovely seating area, there is also a park for the summer nights if you just wanted to sit outside. The fish and chips are beautiful, they have mastered the light crispy batter to perfection in our opinion, the fish is incredibly fresh and tasty. We honestly can not fault this little chippy. The service is out standing and the young girls are always very polite, welcoming and friendly, we was even treated to ice creams yesterday and wow the ice cream was also delicious, creamy vanilla 😋, seems everything they do here is outstanding, let's not forget the home made cheese cake ! Anyway thankyou all at Misterton chippy, we will be back again. Highly recommended to everyone.

My wife and I had fish and chips and mushy peas , and a cup of coffee. Our granddaughter had chicken nuggets and chips and beans and an apple juice. Wow , right from opening the door to the bistro we were very impressed. Lovely decor , clean and very friendly staff. The young lady who came to take our order was friendly, polite and helpful.Our order was quick to be brought to our table, well cooked and presented. We were delighted with the portion of food on our plates. Whilst having our meal, plenty of customers came in, which is always a good sign. We left very satisfied with overall ambience and value for money. We couldn’t eat anything else all afternoon as it was so filling. We definitely would recommend this place and would definitely go back again if in the area. 3 well stuffed customers left the bistro today.Thank you all.

Been wanting to come here since we saw the codbuster challenge on beard meets food YouTube channel. The food did not disappoint, the curry sauce was amazing, the fish and chips were not greasy at all and we all really enjoyed the meal. We had loads of chips left over for round 2 that evening. The staff are outstanding. Thank you for an amazing experience, hope to be back again :)

The best fish and chip shop we have ever been in the fish was massive the chips were tasty peas beans curry and gravy all great the service was excellent Shame the stars only go up to 5 this is a 6 star chippy We could not beat the Meal challenge after eating for 40 minutes they boxed up what was left in 3 big boxes For £30:00 It was a Two half hour drive to check it out and was well worth it

Top fish and chips! Did the Codbuster challenge yesterday only for the experience of seeing how large the portions are, believe me they are massive. A round trip of 160 miles and the experience didn't disappoint. Everything was freshly cooked, piping hot, very lovely boneless cod and non-greasy large light golden chips. The service was friendly and welcoming and I spoke with the owner Shane who is a very likeable man. Complete mystery to me as to why some of the reviews are so negative, but again there are some pretty awful people out there that probably have an axe to grind and are just never happy. Didn't win the challenge, but the girls very kindly boxed up the remainder for me to take home. In summary well worth it, thank you Shane and girls.
